In my senior year of high school, I had set a goal to take over the school's video news program and make it not suck. People rightfully stepped aside as I owned the project. This first episode of the second semester of that year was almost completely edited by me. I had even managed to slip in an NIN track called "Burn" for the intro sequence. This part took an especially long time to do since the school only had an iMac for video editing (god damn you, Macs, with your single mouse buttons!). The actual news portion is pretty bland, but the "entertainment special" is rather funny. It features the poetic stylings of the oft-mentioned Gandalf the Cock. The credit music was not my idea. When I was getting close to completing this episode, people started weighing in with their two cents and coerced me into using "black music". I'm not being particularly racist here, as all the black people did indeed want it. However, as a whole, I'd accomplished my goal of making NNN not suck.

Don't ask me what the "Bounds" means, because I do not know. I'm not sure I ever knew. This was a pretty massive layered piece with impressive strings and percussion that kept building and building until it breaks and goes into a darker theme...with more strings and percussion. Then I tried to go to a lighter theme and lost inspiration as is apparent.

This was going to be a tie-in or a theme for some gay, medieval-fantasy story that my friends were writing, but they lost interest and so did I. It started out really well, though. I envisioned a scene in a foundry where men are making the ultimate sword. Then a heavy drum track comes in and the sword is used in battle by the hero. The last part was supposed to be when the hero comes back ...

I envisioned a scene in a foundry where men are making the ultimate sword. Then a heavy drum track comes in and the sword is used in battle by the hero. The last part was supposed to be when the hero comes back victorious on the bridge over the moat; I kinda pictured the scene from First Knight there. The only part that really worked was the first one, though. Still one of my own favorite pieces, though.

Living in southern Virginia your whole life, it comes naturally to love the infrequent snows; there's only one or two good ones a year. I get totally excited every time the forecast is wintery precipication. But once, this excitement, coupled with the excitement of my new TV Card, was so great that I just had to get the snow on tape. I, of course, imported the video to the computer to make it worthwhile (where the TV Card came in handy). I had the perfect music track all lined up (Darkhalo's "Reason No Ten-Nen Sui") and edited the video in sequence to it. This is the result. By the way, the zooming in and out of the video was an attempt to keep the file size down. I don't know if it helped much.
