Parallel Programming with PVM 6-13-09

This is an interesting and helpful but decidedly not revolutionary article on a project I did during my last semester of college. The project was just a simple parallel program to be ran and benchmarked on both a cluster of computers and a multicore computer. The article contains a Flash version of a PowerPoint presentation I gave, a detailed explanation of every slide in the presentation, the final source code and benchmarks from the project, and some reference links.

In my last semester of college, I decided to take a class in Fortran programming just for fun (because who really uses Fortran anymore). The following is a collection of the projects I completed during said class; they range from simple I/O programs to data structure manipulation programs. Documentation for these programs is also provided where available.

Aspects of Overpopulation 4-07-08

This is about the only decent thing to come out of my final English course in college. The whole class was some bullshit about community service projects, but luckily, I was able to twist the noob professor's arm enough to let me do a public service announcement style project. The final fruits of this project was to be an (as of yet unfinished) video and the formal research paper presented here.

There's some proper formal dribble (Abstract and Executive Summary) at the beginning, but the rest of the paper is pure information. However, my cynical tone bleeds through into some areas, and some (less intelligent) people may disagree with any personal beliefs presented as fact on some points. Still, this is definitely a good overview to get one into the most important issue facing our world.

Parallel Computing Projects for Academic Environments 12-13-07

Abandoned

This paper was done for a collaborative recommendation report in Technical Writing (yes, it was a required course), but it ended up being completely uncollaborative and all my own work. And as I was alone, two sections are missing that were originally planned. Nevertheless, I spent a solid month doing almost nothing but researching this paper. So, while it probably has some incorrect facts here and there, it is nothing but extensive.

The purpose of this report was to give students and instructors enough information to get started with parallel computing for hands-on projects.

I did this term paper for my second college English class. It was supposed to be on a topic related to the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. I chose to investigate the Muslim religion and find out why jihad is a call to terrorism. I researched for a month trying to write an as unbiased paper as possible. However, it is difficult to do so without any firsthand knowledge of Muslims or Islam.
