Parallel Computing Projects for Academic Environments 12-13-07
Revision Date: 7-28-08
Type: Academic
Views: 189
Abandoned

This paper was done for a collaborative recommendation report in Technical Writing (yes, it was a required course), but it ended up being completely uncollaborative and all my own work. And as I was alone, two sections are missing that were originally planned. Nevertheless, I spent a solid month doing almost nothing but researching this paper. So, while it probably has some incorrect facts here and there, it is nothing but extensive.

The purpose of this report was to give students and instructors enough information to get started with parallel computing for hands-on projects.

I did this term paper for my second college English class. It was supposed to be on a topic related to the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. I chose to investigate the Muslim religion and find out why jihad is a call to terrorism. I researched for a month trying to write an as unbiased paper as possible. However, it is difficult to do so without any firsthand knowledge of Muslims or Islam.

Match.com vs. Yahoo! Personals 11-27-04

I created this column after several months of using both Match.com and Yahoo! Personals' services to start relationships. For some reason, I felt the need to compare them like the Head-to-Head section of Maximum PC magazine. Although I didn't reach a decisive winner (or finish it for that matter), this still provides a good, general briefing on the two services.

This is a paper I did for a high school Government class. It could be any topic related to government, so I chose to examine the legislature on computers and the Internet in the U.S. Congress. It turned out to be a rather difficult paper to research; I had to use the Library of Congress website extensively. But the paper is an interesting read to be sure.

Tony the Worm is a "children's story" I created for a 12th grade English class. It's obviously a little too adult for children, but it does have a serious message. Besides that, everybody who reads it think it's absolutely hilarious. I did it completely with Paint Shop Pro 7.

This is a short research paper I did for my Advanced Biology class in high school. We were supposed to observe an organism for a while and then report on our findings with additional research. So I chose ant lions because they're totally awesome and easy to find but little-known. This paper also includes some original pictures taken by me; in a couple, I actually scanned an ant lion.
