Marines was my own expansion on the original PWAD (by Mr Pink and Sergeant Daniel G. Snyder) that became something of a mish-mash but amusing nonetheless. Since I was designing the new content with a more evolved Doom port (Legacy), this PWAD pushes the limits in terms of what the engine can handle. As such, it's only confirmed to work with jDoom and Legacy ports.

Since I was designing the new content with a more evolved Doom port (Legacy), this PWAD pushes the limits in terms of what the engine can handle. As such, it's only confirmed to work with jDoom and Legacy ports.
The game itself tries to emulate more wide-open, realistic environments rather than the confined spaces of Doom 2. Thus the number of enemies firing at the player can be overwhelming at times, making for really challenging gameplay. But this also makes Marines a blast for coop and deathmatch play. In my amatuer modding, some of the sprites and sounds I replaced add to the enjoyment, such as the Mancubus' reply of "Thank you, sir. May I have another?" (Animal House) when hit.
Despite not being complete, this PWAD is still great fun. A config file for Legacy is included, but not required, as is a DeHacked file.
