I made this simple app as a replacement to using the blank screensaver when I'm leaving the computer (usually for the night). Instead of the monitor(s) eventually going to standby after a certain idle time, they'll go immediately when you run this program. This saves power (since I know I won't be back for awhile) and keeps the backlight glow from disturbing my sleep. When I say "simple app", I mean really simple, like 1 line of code simple. It takes a single function call to perform, but yet Microsoft couldn't be bothered to include this anywhere in Windows' interface. It actually took me more time to make the icon than to do the code.

Tip: If you put a shortcut to this program in your Start Menu somewhere, you can set the "Shortcut key" to whatever hotkey you want and use that to put the monitor(s) into standby.

My alarm focuses on reliability, ease-of-use, and useful features so that the user is always alerted in the appropriate manner of their choosing and with minimal hassles. • Multiple alarms that are easy to add, change, or delete
• 9 alarm date types ensure that you'll quickly be able to set alarms to match your schedule
• Big button text on the alarm dialog helps the sleepy-eyed and visually-impaired in the mornings
• Customizable action list lets you predefined what happens when alarms go off
• Choose from 4 different action types, such as playing a sound or showing a message box
• Sound actions can play any number of sound formats (WAV, MP3, WMA, OGG, etc) courtesy of the included FMOD library
• Program interacts with system standby to either prevent it or wake the computer up when there's an active alarm
• Intelligent, threaded time monitor manages its own polling rate and process priority to keep system usage down (especially when minimized to tray)
• Many options to suit the user's needs and personal preferences

This is a program that will take a Motherboard Monitor (definitely works for 5.3.3.0) High/Low log in CSV format, parse it, and output a properly formatted CSV file with only data in individual columns and each reading on a different row, suitable for import into a spreadsheet. This is a 3D sound demonstration app that was originally a DirectX 9 SDK sample. However, all Microsoft's example did was open one sound and spin it around the listener. I added the abiltiy to have multiple sounds placed anywhere in a 2D soundscape. It also allows the user to move the listener around in the soundscape as they would a video game. My greatest ambition for this program was to make it a sound engine for a video game set completely in the dark (hence the name), except for a scanner remniscent of the one from Aliens. However, that's far off from what I have now. For the final version, I just want to have ogg/mp3 file support and a DirectX effects editor for every loaded sound.

The source and some starter sounds are included in this release. The program is probably good for testing surround sound speakers, as well.

This program is useful for fixing out-of-sync audio in video files. It does the math to find out what framerate will bring the audio back into sync. You will still need a program like VirtualDub to fix the video file. The Readme includes a complete tutorial on how to fix audio sync issues with Media Player Classic, VirtualDubMod, and this program.

It's meant to remove a line from a text file if it matches the regular expression provided. You give it an input file and output file, and it'll complete the search and copy in a relatively short time (50mb in ~5 secs). It also can just check to see if there are any matches without the copying. I used .NET because it has good built-in regex support and file IO performance.

This is a very simple app that I coded in one day because I was tired of trying to remember all the connection data rates and doing 6 steps in a calculator to figure out how long it would take to transfer some data. You can select from predefined data rates in the list or select "Custom" to enter your own. Then you enter the amount of data you want to transfer. Remember that a uppercase B means bytes and a lowercase b means bits. The calculator updates the time it will take to transfer in real-time. You can also change the unit of time displayed and copy all of this to the clipboard. It'll look like this: 11KB at 53Kb/s (56K Modem) will take 1.66 Seconds

This is an app I made to address the inability of the Logitech drivers and software to change mouse button settings according to the app that has the focus. As an alternative, you may want to use the Logigamer software. My app only works with the MX510, MX500, MX700, and MX310 right now, but it has the possibility of working with any of the (older) Mouseware mice. (If you have a newer, SetPoint mouse, try uberOptions.) While my app doesn't allow some of the more advanced features like Logigamer, it does have an edge with a different method of notifying the Logitech mouse software drivers of scheme changes (it uses a message system instead of the more common restarting of EM_EXEC). This makes it a little more responsive. I also think my user-interface and scheme settings are easier to use.

The software is split into a monitoring app that sits in the systray and a settings app. The settings app can add programs by browsing or selecting open programs. All the functions of the Mouseware are available to set to buttons, including keystrokes. You can also select to add a program to the games compatibility list for the Logitech software. The monitor app uses about 2-3MB of memory standard, but can be minimized down to 1MB on low system memory. Crashes on startup have been fixed.

This one started out as another VB6 app, but after completing 25%, I converted it to VB.NET. From what I remember, I switched cause I wanted to optimize my string reading speed. Eventually, I had just continued to work out the program in .NET. So, you could say this is my learning app, but it's still quite functional. This is the first time I've used regular expressions, buffered reads, XP-themed controls, and threads, as well.

What this app does is reads local HTML (or HTML-encapsulating) files according to their file extensions and searches through them using regular expressions to find instances of fonts. It will find HTML, CSS, and script coded fonts. When it finds a font, it adds it to three different displays. The first is a list of all the fonts, their font filenames (if found), and the number of instances of that font found. The second is a tree list of fonts and the pages that use them. The third is a tree list of pages and the fonts that they use. These all have context menus with special functions like opening files and previewing fonts. You can also tweak some options like the regular expressions to use, but they've been tested extensively and should work well. The program will find an estimated 99% of the fonts and will match a non-font about 1 in 15,000 font matches (with default settings and dependent on the scope and type of files searched).

This app is mostly done, but I may add some more options or make a variation of it in the future. It requires the .NET Framework v1.1 or later, of course.
