I added the abiltiy to have multiple sounds placed anywhere in a 2D soundscape. It also allows the user to move the listener around in the soundscape as they would a video game. My greatest ambition for this program was to make it a sound engine for a video game set completely in the dark (hence the name), except for a scanner remniscent of the one from Aliens. However, that's far off from what I have now. For the final version, I just want to have ogg/mp3 file support and a DirectX effects editor for every loaded sound.

The source and some starter sounds are included in this release. The program is probably good for testing surround sound speakers, as well.

This one is a remix of a track from Hitman 2 that plays during the snow environment missions. It's a really surreal track with awesome percussion backing up the Hitman style. I cut it down and added small layering touches to some of the dryer parts. Jesper Kyd is the original composer. Check out his site for more tracks.

This is just a pack of waypoints for use with the popular bot for vanilla Counter-Strike, PODBot. One year while I was on a CS trip, I found it a fun challenge to lay out waypoints on some maps that either didn't have any or the ones they had were shitty. These waypoints should all be of high quality; I tried to get really creative with them, finding all those little camping spots and every ...

One year while I was on a CS trip, I found it a fun challenge to lay out waypoints on some maps that either didn't have any or the ones they had were shitty. These waypoints should all be of high quality; I tried to get really creative with them, finding all those little camping spots and every possible place you can get the bots to jump to. Waypoint files for the following maps are included:

• cs_assault2k
• cs_docks
• cs_india
• cs_office
• de_aztec
• de_descent_v2
• de_inferno
• de_maresa3
• de_rats3

I was always turned off by the Chinese civ because it forced the player to create units in mixed groups (Banner Armies). So, this mod allows you to train Chinese units individually as with the other civs. In addition, all Home City cards affecting Banner Armies have been modified to affect their respective individual units. The Summer Palace wonder still trains units in Banner Armies, though--I could have changed this, but decided against it.

I was tired of playing as someone who looked like a mute, ignorant, long-time crack addict in GTA3. This mod replaces him with my best effort at a Snake (me) skin. It looks snake, it looks like a pro--a middle-class criminal with brains. So, if you're tired of playing with the crackhead, give Snake a try. Notice the classic, blue coat, the airwalks, typical jeans, glasses, and skin so white that ...

I was playing around with a sample collection one day and came up with this interesting ambient track (short as it is). Basically, it's just pretty. You'll have to hear it to understand.

The third installment to my snow videos is noticeably better. I switched editing software and did some things during filming that can't be done in editing. I also finally got the sound encoding right and added credits. The whole mood of this one is rather pretty and lighthearted. Like the others, this video is sequenced to music. Also like the others, I chose music by Darkhalo; this track is called "Fantasy Wind 2" (an edited version by me). I'm really proud of this video, and it's one of my favorite works.

It's meant to remove a line from a text file if it matches the regular expression provided. You give it an input file and output file, and it'll complete the search and copy in a relatively short time (50mb in ~5 secs). It also can just check to see if there are any matches without the copying. I used .NET because it has good built-in regex support and file IO performance.

Almost a year after the first, I did another snow video. I was a bit lazy that day, though, so I only managed to get evening shots. It's a little rough in retrospect. Filming at night brings the quality down; but it also just feels less inspired. However, I did find that shadows on the snow are really neat, because they're so clean and contrasting. This is a program that will take a Motherboard Monitor (definitely works for 5.3.3.0) High/Low log in CSV format, parse it, and output a properly formatted CSV file with only data in individual columns and each reading on a different row, suitable for import into a spreadsheet. This program was used to support a column I did on PC air cooling, found here. Source code is included so you can modify it to suit your needs if necessary. It was made using Windows XP and JDK 1.5.
