AHhhhhhhhhh (yawning)!!! Um, yeh…I raided my UT System directory and came up with some humorous pics for the POTM. So, check those out. Also, I did something else…I forget, though. But, I’m sure whatever I did was cool. Hold up, I know! I updated some links on MOD.html, artist pages and download links for my MODs.

I think March’s Column is up for grabs; at this point, I’d even let Gandalf do something. April will definitely be a good Column, though. Loog is keeping it under wraps for the time being, but soon I’ll be allowed to put the frosting on his masterpiece. May will probably be about realistic multiplayer tactics. And my “U2 Conceptual MOD” will be for either July or June, depending on when I can get my concept art done and whether it will be made in PSP or Ued2. When I discussed some of my ideas with Quedog, all he could say was “Cool!” and “Badass”. Well, I’ve got until late next year to complete the design, where I’ll either give it off to a crack UT MOD team, oversee a crack UT MOD team as the Lead Designer, or build my own team. Stay tuned for that highly exciting Column!

I’m surprised that Loog didn’t mention our becoming reviewers for Mod Archive this weekend. We’ve both only reviewed 1 song, but I sure as hell plan to do more when things calm down. I reviewed Acumen’s “Landmark of Lullabies” and Loog did Awesome’s “For a New World”. I will state now that I, Snake, devote myself to reviewing all of Acumen’s MODs…even when they’re right off his hard drive.

Due to recent events, I have decided to close the Clan. This DOES NOT mean anything will happen to the pages you’re seeing here. We will soon be getting a domain (maybe S–L.com), expanding our influence on search engines, and excepting html-skilled gamers to contribute to the expanse of S&L. We will continue to use the [S&L] tag, but eventually remove our ranks and positions. The Clan pages will slowly be dissolved into a redefined game hub for screenshots, game download information, and other features that members may want to add. It is also with a heavy heart that I have to cut off “excess fat” from the Clan.

I played some more INF tonight; it’s all good. I played for 2 1/2 hours on SOBserver Houston. Loog, Que, and myself also got together and played 2 maps of CS with our new low ping friend…I smell a practice server. Anywho, here are some more screens to entice fellow clanners and faithful visitors to get INF. There’s probably gonna be a patch tomorrow or monday to fix some single-player bugs and random bullshit that the INF team didn’t see (such as spectators being able to open and close windows/doors in the new maps). Ahhhhh…Zzzzzzzzzz…..

Zzzzzzzzz, damnit…forgot the pics!

Ahhhhhhh…I have tasted the sweet juices of INF Net War. I basically suck, as it’s always a ping issue, but I haven’t been playing INF very much in the last week. Therefore, my skills were a little low, but today’s play was a real learning experience. Looks as if I’m gonna be playing a lot of Infiltration online, now. If you don’t have it, look to my previous entry. There are two places to download the core files and one for the maps (you WILL need the maps to play online, all the servers run is the new stuff).

I played on a little clan server first to get a feel of my lag. I got a “nice”, “good shot”, and “woah, just popped right up and nailed him!” on that server. Then I started playing where the big boys go, SOBserver (they have a nifty voting system); I got a ping around 300ms there. First, I sucked on Kosovo, I did ok on CubanDawn, but I started to get the feel for the tension and lag on Sicily; that’s where I shined. Here’s my Sicily story of rockage: I took the left exit from the respawn area of blue and started to wander behind two team-mates taking the long way around. When we reached a corner, they both suddenly got whacked by a nade and MP5 (I believe). I was untouched and ran back to a space in between two houses (very similar to cs_italy for CStrike, but a little more gloomy). I camped there and pulled out an AKSMU that I had picked up earlier. Sure enough, here came footsteps…he walked right past my nook and had his back turned, sliding along. When I felt comfortable, I broke out on his ass with auto AKSMU fire…normally this would be the end of the hostile, but the drum that had previously been loaded had only 3 ROUNDS LEFT!!! We were both stressing to figure out what happened, I ran out of the nook and he turned around. Finally I fumbled out my M16 and damned if the thing didn’t have the M203 selected! I shot a grenade into his head, but this was CQB and it didn’t explode. He was just crouched fumbling with his weapons, too. It’s a good thing there is no Auto-reload, cause I was able to switch to the M16 and give the hostile a good 4-round burst. Finally, he was dead…and I didn’t loose a single bit of health against an LPB. This round ended in myself being the only person alive on Blue and up against 4 hostile Reds. Damn, my heart nearly blew out of my chest…ahhhhhhh. There are 2 pics below of my phatness. Enjoy and get INF 2.85, damnit!

Greetings, ya hump? Nevermind…BIG SHIT IS HAPPENING!!! First off, we are all being granted patches for our favorite MODs. In this week, we saw the Half-Life/TFC v1106, the CStrike v1.1, and Infiltration v2.85 patches. Quelog has mentioned an FA patch soon, as well. The HL/TFC patch may mean Snake is going to put his /TFC back on the Hard Drive and start fragging once more on the battlefields of Team Fortress. That is, of course, if I can manage to stop playing INF. If I can find a free server today, I’ll see if Infiltration has what it takes to be a good Multiplayer experience. I’ll probably just get my ass kicked hard by a bunch of LPB lowlife, but it’s all good with the bots. Except this new bullshittin’ friendly fire that can’t be disabled. If you’re low on health, make certain to frag team members nearby before they frag you.

Second item of news is COOL SHIT ON THE SITE!!! Since the last news update, I’ve redone most of the Photo Album and Staff Page with a nifty “browser-in-browser” javascript. It’s a little more functional over a frame and can be placed anywhere. The downside is it has limited customizability and is only compatible with IE (recommended use with 5.0).

Third news is MOD DRIVE!!! I got a new very old HDD a few days ago. It has a huge storage amount of 260MB (yes, it is possible to have a hard drive with less than a gigabyte, lamers). Anyways, it was just perfect for putting my MODs on, there’s only 12MB free. Just for laughs, here are some specs: 3800RPM, 64KB buffer, and 30ms access time. It takes about 5 seconds to load Out of the Blue (by Acumen), but it makes a cool clicking noise; sounds like a CD changer when it changes CDs. There’s a pic below, as well as some links to good sites to download the patches from.

Patches:
CounterStrike v1.1 (non-retail patch) – 19.52MB
CounterStrike v1.1 (non-retail FULL) – 87.3MB
Half-Life/TFC v1106 (patch 1104) – 11.41MB
Infiltration v2.85 FULL – 53.48MB
Infiltration v2.85 FULL – 53.48MB
Infiltration v2.85 Maps – 61.42MB
