I’m a Diablo 2 whore!

I started playing yesterday afternoon, and now I can’t seem to play anything else (beside about 15 minutes of the Quake Shareware). At this moment, I’m a Level 19 Barbarian and about half-way through Act II. It’s taken around 17 hours of play to get to my present position and I’ve only died 8 times. Half of my deaths came from those gay Fallen Shamen; put a crap load of them into a area (such as the monastery in Act I) and they start raising each other before I can kill them all without running into a massive death plummet where potions only slow the coming end. What it came down to once was selling 2 of my special stashed items to buy the best armor available and a Scroll of Town Portal. Once I got back to my corpse (with mucho goodies on it), I’d run like hell to a place to town portal outta there and regain my health and prepare to take those flaming faggots. Needless to say, it worked.

But, that’s not the point. The point is, I’m gonna play through the rest and then go on to Nightmare setting and then Hell! I can barely contain myself. As a tip: It is a good thing to allocate a lot of skill towards Bash (Barbarians) in the beginning. Once I got to the Maggot Lair in Act II, an excellent two-handed Battle Axe coupled with this skill put down all of the maggot worm thingies in only one blow. And since the maggot tunnels are mostly tight and linear, you need not be worried about the speed at which you take them out. That was one of the few times in Diablo 2 that I didn’t have any health worries. Normally now, I just keep my Battle Axe on me for safe measure. If you examine this screenshot, you’ll see why.

As you can see, that Broad Sword is using the skill Double Swing with a Damage Enhanced Falchion (max damage of 28). The Gemmed Broad Sword will usually inflict a good poison attack on the first swing and Falchion will follow up. If the monster isn’t dead from that pounding, the lightning/fire attack from the next will finish him off. Because my defense is so great, I can get away with not using a shield. I can usually dispatch of any skeletons and zombies without them even attempting to hit me. Tomorrow, I’ll be well into Act 3.
Greg Vederman finished the game in 27 hours and with 14 deaths. I challenge myself to beat that.

One last note about the amazing, non-existant (at least not on any of our servers or mirrors), hotly debated April Column. Some people bitched I’m guessing, and got S&L in trouble…except Que (lucky shit). Now Gandalf is all rawled up about it all and explains in this speech his feelings on the matter as of today. It’s directed towards the principal of our school. I don’t really give a rat’s ass right now, though…It’s 10 days of fraggin’ for Snake! Taste the wrath of my Colt M4, LPBs!!!

Which brings me to my next little subject, my new modem…a Diamond SupraExpress ISA. It’s basically a cheaper version of Loog’s SupraSonic2, but I don’t see much of a difference. Loog gets about 10ms lower ping than me now on our favorite CS server (used to have a 100ms lower). Here’s two screenshots of tests I ran with it, the first is pinging GameDomain CS 1.1 Server and the second is running a ping for www.S–L.com.

Yeh, this modem rocks…and I got it for $29 on Ebay. Snake officially recommends the Diamond SupraExpress for the cheapest high quality 56k modem. Especially if you can get it for a steal like I did, most retailers sell it for $65 (BTW, my modem came boxed and sealed, too).

At the time I am writing this, I haven’t posted the review for Hitman or Diablo II. I plan to soon, though (they are both excellent demos). Before I add them to the DEMOBOARD, I wanted to design a totally new layout for it. I’ll be using some of the textures I created for the Column, so they finally get some use. So, there are some more screenshots below from Diablo II. I took them after I had finished all the content from the demo (2 quests) and made it to Level 7. Gotta love that Vicious Trident!

I’m tired of this shit! Stop picking on Loog, you obsessive pussies! So, he’s a horny dumbfuck…you should all know this by now. I mean, we spent 30+ hours working on April’s Column, and even though I just did technical stuff for the Column, I still think it deserves to be available to all the perverted, non-serious population. I’ve set up a new thread at the forum (click “Comments” in any of the news headers) to get comments from anyone that may have seen April’s Column (before I removed it or Loogie’s idiotic leaked version without voting systems or any graphics). That may decide whether it returns to it’s rightful place on our new server. I hope we can get this bullass out of the way soon, cause I want to frag undisturbed all of spring break.

I think you llamas just can’t handle Loog’s honest opinions. Well, I’ve seen more shit on my 2 PCs in the last 3 years than any of you whiners could imagine. And, AprCol wasn’t a big deal…get over it, pansies.

A message to the Gaming Community:
I’ve been getting a lot of enjoyment from the short but sweet demo for HitMan: Codename 47. Expect, a review tomorrow…or don’t even wait, download it now. The physics, graphics, and challenge are worth it. I mean it, those physics are awesome. I shot the Police Chief in the head with a Mossberg shotgun running out the door of the fish restaurant. He flipped over forward and the blood poured from his skull. Rockage.

Quedog’s father is pimping him to men at his workplace. Or…I think that’s what Que’s said, he’s been off most of the last 3 days. It also appears that he’s playing through Half-Life again…which will be awhile since he has a fetish for always finishing a level with perfect health…Alas.

Yes, if you’re seeking Loog’s controversial April Column, it is down at the moment. We decided that too many person’s were viewing it before final release and giving bad feedback (bad looks, too)…and we’re fucking not done, damnit! There is still some user-interface (hey, it might even be GUI :) code to add and the navigation to redo. Furthermore, Loog is working on all the rest of the descriptions, and I may make an enhancement to the logo. And finishing by tomorrow may be a bit out of reach because of this…

Yes, we’re finally getting a reasonable host for the site…$12 a month for 120MB of storage, CGI, Real Audio, 5GB of bandwidth, and a crap load of other features. All this comes at the price of having to repath the ENTIRE SITE. Oh what fun that will be; schoolwork can suck my dick for a week.

BTW, the new site will be located here:
