Well, as u can see, I redid the backgrounds for s–l! . I think they look quite good, and Omi agrees w/ me (only person on now who I could ask). He said it looks like “christmas on an acidtrip”, but whatever… fire was getting old.

What else… oh, my GF2 almost died! This morning, I awoke to see my screensaver, locked… so I restarted, and my PC speaker emitted damn 3 beeps (that means there’s a video problem)… so, I opened the Wad, and saw smoke coming from the back of the video card!!! Not much, but it was definitely smoke. So, I tried to turn it back on just to see, and it did turn on, but then I saw multicolor vertical lines on my screen, and what I think was a display error msg. So… after school, I just removed the fan, reapplied paste, put it back on, and added 2 RAMsinks I got from 2Cooltek™ today, and it turned on and worked fine… underclocked immediately though, to be safe. I also moved 2 fans around, and changed some fans’ connections around, using the new 3-pin y-adapter and 3-pin extensions I also got from 2Cooltek™. My temps have gone down a bit, but that’s mainly cause I have the case open. This is my interval log from like an hour ago.

In gaming news: Yes, I did beat Max Payne eventually… I’m not that much of a llama, I had some technical issues to deal w/ while playing; I got Red Faction (on Morpheus), and am about 60% through it. It’s extremely fun, and the physics are simply amazsting. I also got what I think is the full version of Startopia, but I’m not sure yet.

Once codename BeattheTechCloud starts up, we’ll get Windows XP Home version, and so we’ll also probably upgrade our own rigs to that.

And, a disturbing revelation I had: Snake and I have each had 3 different video cards (4 if u count the Dell and Supa GhEt 286): S3 Trio, S3 Virge; 3DFX Voodoo3 2000, S3 ViperII; GeForce2 GTS, GeForce2 Ultra… and every single time, Snake‘s card has had double the video memory. 2, 4; 16, 32; 32, 64… and, 2 of his had BIOSs, none of mine have.

That’s it.

In the last week, I have beaten Soldier of Fortune and Max Payne.

Soldier of Fortune was okay, but the gore gets sort of boring about half way through. Instead of blowing off specific body parts, I’d just blow their heads off to fly through the levels as quickly as possible. There was this one time that I had shot both of a guy’s legs off and he was lying on the ground screaming and just wouldn’t stop; so, I threw a knife in his head and that seemed to shut him up. That was pretty cool. Time to beat SoF: 13 Hours

Max Payne is something special, though. If you have the hardware, you owe it to yourself to somehow obtain and play this game. Personally, I have absolutely no trouble setting every option to High (except Geometry), even FSAA, and it looks amazing. The immersive story, the revolutionary graphics, and of course the exceptionally swooby bullet-time and dodging made me hooked on Max Payne for the entire last two days until I completed it at 11:00PM yesterday. Quite an experience. Time to beat Max Payne: 16 Hours. Loogie still isn’t done with it and he’s had a week longer to play…llama ding. Here’s some phat screenshots that aren’t about the game’s rats:

Quelog here in History class. In some computer lab researching for a research paper (go figure.) Ive been poking around the site some.. and.. uh.. im pretty bored. Snakes new Guardian thing has given me some problems, as Netscape doesnt allow scrolling on the mainpage. Ive got this pos Pentium Pro at 98% system resources. And.. uh… yea, if you have any profoundly useful internet resources concerning the effects of the industrial revolution on the poor in 1810-1860, hook me up.

Earlier today, I put a new fan and heatsink in the Wad… I used some ASII paste and put the old heatsink from my GF2 on my SouthBridge chipset, and drilled 3 holes and put my PB POS 50mm fan on my back vents (still not secured totally, need a couple washers)… and for the first time ever, my SB temp went down 2°, & my NB temp went down 4… just look @ my Interval Log. This leads even more to the completion of the g-cock² (u’ll find out later)

Next, I made my own ghETTo Hardware MODs column… just look through
the Columns pages for it.

I’ve been gettin/recordin a lot of MP3s lately… I haven’t abandoned MODs, but Aimster is damn cool.

And…. Hollow Man is supa awesome.

Last night, I fell asleep at around 8P-freakin-M, yet didn’t wake up today until just 5 hours ago. 😕 I’m all sleeped up and ready to work, though. 😉 I’ve already done a large revision to the VT6X4 Tweak Guide and as AXS is telling me, it’s already pretty popular. Yesterday, I uploaded all the pics from the 31st (codenamed S3, remember) and you can use ImageFolio to browse them in alphabetical order here. The Column for that is still pending, but will be easier to follow and in chronological order.

Now to retract and poke at the previous two posts. 😛 Loog, I can’t even follow 30% of your post. If you’re gonna go off on a tangent or a cosine, make it a Column with schematics and such. And, the glossary will be lucky to appear before Christmas, cause it’ll have to be a totally new database. Que didn’t put any link to his Photo Album subdirectory, either; it’s here. And Que, why is Halloween an Atheist’s Christmas? Are you trying to say you’re a Satanist? 😮 It’s just another holiday for me.

And finally, I awoke today and found a Judith Owen Limited Edition CD to open. I popped it in the Creative and have been looping it for about 4 times. Well, this week was certainly interesting. I turned in another damn compbook, worked my ass of in school, got a job, did halloween, had my birthday, got a dcam.. and oh yea! I electrocuted Bleys (Gr)!

I turned in my “Their Eyes Were Watching God” compbook on Monday, after working my ass off all of last weekend.. i winged most of it, in true Quelogian style. Then on Tuesday i had to write a longass Timed Essay in that class, and again on Thursday. That goes along with Thursdays impossible vocabulary test, which i was double damned on because i didnt study for it. Also, i had to read my ass off and study for History, because i had a 60-question AP-style exam, and a hugeass inclass, timed essay about the development of american industry… both on Thursday! Plus for some unknown reason, we’ve actually had to start doing work in all of my other classes. Overall, ive had to bust my ass just to keep up in school! I even turned in incomplete physics homework!

Aside from that bullshit, i got a job! I work 6 hours a week at the library making $10 an hour as a “Youth Computer.. uh.. something.” I go around and make sure that the kids arent screwing things up and that they dont need help. Cant have them flooding the desk with questions, you know. I get a swooby electronic key thing, a cool shirt, and an ID tag. I can go sip coffee in the employee lounge if i want! What rocks most about it is what i had to do to get the job… nothing! Thats right, bitches.. i didnt have to go job-hunting.. they called me! I just sat around on my ass! Beat that, mofos!

And on Wednesday, of course, it was Halloween! I call it “The athiest’s christmas.” We built up the front of the appartment with a whole display.. fake stone blocks, castle front, impaled and disemboweled dummies! I hid inside of the fake castle front behind a wall with a little door in it.. wore a horrible mask and poped out at people.. i scared the hell out of them! Plus i had the amplifier on microphone, and a spider tha i dropped from the eves of the roof. It rocked!

So Thursday was my 17th birthday. Youve read above how shitty a day that was! Pretty much all i got was the Digital Camera. Kodak DC3200.. it ownz joo! Shipped in two days, and i tracked it all the way. It was there when i got home, so of course, that was nice. Ive already put lots of pics in my new section in the Photo Album. Check it out on the left.

Oh yea.. and i electrocuted Bleys! We were in A+ and he was looking at a power source on this pos we were working on.. “Look you can see inside of it!” he said, peering into the slits on its side. “Whatever, Bleys..” i retorted.. a moment later i plugged in the power source (from wall to PC). He had leaned his face out, but his hand and the metal blank (slot cover) he happened to be holding were still contacting the power source. BZZZZAP! It arced from his hand into his tongue! We both saw the big spark, which i describe as a misshapen cloud of blue and white. It turned out that he was fine, but he still claims to be able to taste electricity.

This weekend, Im opening my checking account and getting a debit card. Also gonna finally get my learners and start learning how to drive and stuff. Rock on, Bitches, because this mofo is headed for the top!
