Did somebody say DX-Ball? Well, I definitely heard it, thanks to its awesome music (of MODs, I might add). Contrary to what you may think, the downloadable DX-Ball2 is not a demo, but actually the full version of the game. Last week, I said that I would get 150 boards for this insanely fun game. Well, I did. I bought Board Pack #1. Each board pack has 150 boards (there are 3 packs, so you can get a total of 450 boards!). It is very fun. I especially like being in cheat mode and holding down any key for a while as I play. Ka-ching! There really should be a level editor for this game. Damn.

I have also been playing “The Sims.” Sure, it gets old after a while, but I just love the atmosphere. It relaxes me after a hard day. My favorite pre-made families are the Goths and the Maximuses (the latter of which you have to download).

My playlist concludes with a pint of Roller Coaster Tycoon, a quart of Diablo, and a gallon of Chip’s Challenge.

Just like Snake, I am getting a tad bored with The Sims. Sure, the first time you play it, you’re amazed and think that the fun will be endless; but it’s not. I played for 6 hours the first day, then 3, and now I basically play every other day. There are major flaws with the game: you can’t go anywhere outside of your house, it takes way too long to do tasks, and it takes a very long time to load (well, at least on my bare-minimum PC). Unlike Snake, I have not experienced most of what the game has to offer, but that is mostly because I am not a “Psycho” who stays at home on the PC, playing Doom; but I just can’t stop coming back for more.

I have also been playing some Diablo. I beat the game with the Warrior, and now I’m gonna go through with the Rogue and Sorcerer. I will also try MP for it on Battle.net. Man, this game really lacks some things: only one town, not enough quests, Diablo is too easy to beat, and there are some other niggles. I have also been playing Doom II, utilizing Snake’s Matrix configuration file. But Doom is just getting old. Snake continues to obsess with it; he just got the ZDoom Launcher. But, again, I’m not a “Psycho” (WM Note: Um, excuse me, are you jackaling me, “Jackal”?) like him who just kills things all day.

DX-Ball2 finishes off my week of somewhat dormant gaming. This game is wicked, and I’m gonna buy 150 boards for it next week.

Don’t forget to do the Doom survey and POTM on our main page!

After Snake stole my game, “The Sims,” because it was write-protected and therefore could not be copied on my CD-RW, I went through utter depression and denial. Meanwhile, I played some Diablo. I’m on level 13 of the church, officially in “Hell,” and it is getting rather boring. Kill some dudes, use up potions, duplicate town portal, go to town, get potions, repair weapons, talk to townspeople, go back to Hell, and kill the remaining dudes. Due to this boredom, I got “The Sims” Thursday, and it kicks ass. I played that for 4 hours straight Thursday, and I am just beginning. I downloaded some new houses, and now most of my vacant lots are gone (damnit). My small house is gorgeous, inside and out. I have made it through 3 days of living, with the Galpert family. My “Alan” is an Executive Assistant at his business, and I will soon get a maid and give my “Jenny” a job. It is very, very addictive, relaxing, and fun.

I have also been playing a little bit of Chip’s Challenge, a lot of DX-Ball2, and two games of DoomII on Doom95 with Snake.

This week, I’ve been cutting through Diablo. This game really is good. I’ve made it to level 10 of the church. The thing I love the most about the game is hearing and seeing the enemies die. My favorites are the Unseen, Poison Spitter, Clans (Flesh, Stone, Fire, and Night), Gloom, and all of the skeletons. I like to cheat for 5,000 gold with BobaFett’s Trainer and going to town and buying really expensive items. This game needs no explanation, aside from the one on February’s Column.

I have also been playing Chip’s Challenge, RollerCoaster Tycoon, and DoomII. I will get the ever-popular “The Sims” before next week, which will undoubtably occupy all of my time. Read PCGamer’s 96%-scoring review on it!
