Well, I’m gonna report on a few things. Infiltration is mighty damn cool. First off though, the installation/setup is a bitch. Luckily, I am a master at all things computer (except local area networks, obviously). After I got the first huge-ass download complete, I went ahead and played some UT deathmatch maps (as the maps have to be downloaded separately) and it’s pretty easy to get into the game. I recommend Barricade with 10 or 12 bots if you don’t have the time to download the 43MB maps.

The credit system in the loadout is rather interesting, either you can buy a sniper rifle (H&K PSG or Robar .50) and maybe a sidearm and ammo or purchase 2 sidearms, 2 SMGs, a Colt Rifle w/ M203 grenade launcher, another grenade launcher, an integral sepressor, 5 frag grenades, a knife, and all the ammo possible for every weapon (even sniper rifles, in case you pick one up). Of course, most would go for the second layout for the number of weapons and allout firepower. The .50 caliber rifle, though, is devastating against the cumbersome bots in the hands of a good sniper. Once I got the maps, I was really suprised, several of them are actually quite fun. Cuban Dawn has a CounterStrike feel to it, one team is in a house overlooking key chokepoints and the other has to prod their way into the house and hold these positions. It’s nothing but a deathmatch, but the developers hope to soon make it into something more assault-like. I haven’t had a whole lot of time to try out all the maps, but Installation is my favorite. The only thing is the red team’s bots seem to love suiciding at the beginning of the map by falling too far down, leaving it up to Snake to camp outside the blue base with my M203. Gibbies!!!

And, currently…I’ve gotten some new MODs. All the ones that Loog prescribed for me sound either like lousy rock or game music from an atari. So, Snake called up on some of his favorite artists at TiS for some goodness, the best being Martian Lovesong by Necros and Annie by Nighthawk. What’s totally amazing is that all of Nighthawk’s music has been given a 10, but one of the best trackers technically (Necros) is given ratings of 8 on a lot of his best stuff (most of it has been rated 5 times, though). So, if you get any new music, look towards the greats, not new, shitty artists.

Well, all I have to say about the “LAN Party” is that it was FUBAR!!! YOU HEAR ME LINKSYS!!??!!!! FUBAR!!! YOU BASTARDS, WITH ALL YOUR EASY INSTALLATION BULLSHIT!!!

Ok, remember the old deathmatch map from Unreal called Tundra, well I’m fixing it up for use with UT. I changed all the weapons and powerups and added translocator points for the bots, but there’s some weird bsp stuff going on that wasn’t in the original.

I also have been sick, recently. For two days, I couldn’t even get up the strength to use The Serpent. Can you imagine anything more aweful? No, me neither. Today and yesterday, I’ve been feeling a bit better; played some UT and Firearms. As I finish this up, I’m about 5% away from finishing my download of Infiltration, a swooby-looking tactical mod for UT. It’s kinda like a more realistic Firearms, but only some testing can tell. Well, lemme get to that…cya, faithful 5 visitors.

Disregard Quelog’s bullshitting. The Infiltration manual didn’t cover putting the split files together, and even though it’s the easiest part, Que had to be a llama. It’s as simple as unzipping all of the split zip contents into a temp folder wherever (I put mine on the desktop), and then just running the batch file. At this point, you have one larger zip. Run that and extract it to that same temp directory, now you have an even larger UMOD file. Run that and now head to the manual.
Damnit, I was playing DX-Ball2 this evening around 7, because I couldn’t get online for our stupid-ass ISP not letting 2 users be on at the same time. Around board 20 of “Journey to the Sun” (I was playing in Kid-mode, mind you, cause it takes less time), I started getting sleepy and even so that I lost a paddle. But, I managed to finish and with a very nice score. I headed back to ModPlug and rested my eyes for a moment, but damned if Melodian didn’t put me to sleep. About 8pm, I fell out of my chair and wobbled over to my bed. I woke up at 2, so that explains why this post is so late. I’ve been trying to figure out the “speech # #-#” for Inf, cause it doesn’t make use of the command menu (or whatever it’s called, default is the V key). Now that I think about it, today was absolute fucking shit (speaking in terms of yesterday and tonight). I should have just slept all damn day to avoid having to wake up late from my mininap after I got to school and nearly getting a tardy, sitting through loads of bullshit that I didn’t understand in English and Algebra2, doing about a million time drills in Keyboarding, giving up the internet for 2 hours for my fucking sister, and having fucked myself up for sleeping so early. Damnit, fucking school is useless!!! I wanna get a development team together and stop wasting my life factoring the square of tri-fucking-nomials!!!

Well, I promised you some 2fort and it looks like you’ll be getting it. I got the doors completed and tested the resupply defense guns, then I decided to add a special last minute goody, location names (you know, the string that tells you where your teammates are in CTF). It sounds easier to add than it actually is, requiring you to add zone portals and infos. The zone portals make the map look crappy in the editor, so I doubt much will be done to the existing map. I’ll be adding the rest of the level from the original, except something special I have planned for the flagrooms. I just hope that the bots will be able to handle getting the flag with my super defensive flag room. Anyways, download the map below or from the downloads page, when i add it tomorrow.

Yep, you heard it right. I proposed we start some kind of “Monthly Local LAN Party” to Loog the other day. Of course, Gand the Cock is just finding out now because he has to sit away from Loog and I at lunch (like he’s ashamed of his Masters). Loog and I will start off next Friday with testing our kit and making sure we know how to set everything up. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get it set up and all of our need-to-be-transfered files finished in an hour, and play some TFC sniper wars and Doom, but mostly UT (not enough players? just add bots). Loog will be commanding the blue bots and myself the red. Of course, we will also be naming the bots after clan members, so when you see the screenshots of the matches, don’t freak when Quedog has a 0 ping.

I just finished a major advancement on 2fort-UT! One respawn room for each team is complete (so no more of that respawning in the heat of the battle crap. And, I went ahead and switched it from DM to CTF and added some temporary flags near the front bottom floor of each base. I’ll put it up tomorrow. The only really large bug I see is in the water; occasionally, a bot with a flag will jump in the water and of course can’t use the translocator cause he’ll loose the flag. What ends up happening is a “Water Deathmatch” as I call it (wouldn’t that be a cool DM, nothing but underwater with scuba gear and weapons all around) as the team whose flag has been taken will only try to get it back. This only results in unending DM when just bots play, it’s fine when I play, too. I also have to put the respawn and resupply doors on the blue side, so that’s the goal tomorrow before beta release 0.40. It’ll be on tomorrow’s news.
