Well, i had written a beautiful news post about tonights TFC game, but as i was changing the names of the SS’s to match the HTML i had written for the post, i fucking locked cold. This was just after i had copied the whole post incase IE crashed or something, and accidentally closed the posting window while looking at the JPGs. I had saved myself from a disaster, and was quite pleased with myself, when this bitch system *kicks it* decided to fuck with my mind. Anyways, heres a crappy remake of what was once a greatly composed news post…

So, yeh, we played a clan TFC game tonight. Snake, Loog, Gr-Dragon, and myself were there. 2 other actual people joined during the first 45mins, and one of them wanted to join the clan! Loog used his recruitment script, and it still had the old Geocities URL. LOL! Gr-Dragon quit after a little while because he had to eat, and Loogie quit soon after because he was lagging so badly that he had problems spawning, and couldnt move the rest of the time. After he quit, and bitched at me saying that my connection sucked, he found out that he had forgotten to pause his Rogue Spear download from Morpheus. What a dumbass! After all of the llamage had left, me and Snake rocked the bots for bout an hour. For the last half-hour, we occupied the enemy roof in Well as Engies. When Snake reached 100 frags on that map, he quit.. and so concluded the TFC game. Whats funny is that about 15 seconds after he quit, my window popped up telling me that i had to reconnect in 10 mins.. what timing! Here’s the Screenshots…

Here’s the new gfx set for the site. It’s only half finished and there’s not any accompanying css script for it, either. I struggled to get the buttons done tonight, but did get them completed for tomorrow’s traffic. Like the last set, this is optimized for resolutions between 800×600 and 1024×768; anything higher than 1024×768 will loop and clip the textures.

I wanna start recoding the Demoboard for the new Glossary Feature next weekend (got a project to work on for school this weekend). Initially, it should have more than 100 terms. Should be quite nice for you llamas (llama will be defined as well). 😛

Ok, just to clarify… yes, the BGs are replaced, and Fire is back… cause Snake got on MSN like 15seconds before I put this news up, and of course disapproved cause he’s an ass. He said he’ll “go all out” for the Christmas ones, but the “acidtrip” ones will be back up sometime. Go here to see how the site looked for that amazing half-hour… and them plz comment this post, telling me what u think.
[Editors Note: The only thing about that BG that has to do with an “acid trip” is what the hell you must have been on/experiencing when you upped that rubbish in the first place! Shazbot! 😛 ]

P.S.: if u have IE6, or any other browser that does this, go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Multimedia, and disable “Automatic Image Resizing”… if this is on, once the pic finishes loading, it’ll look like ass.

Well, as u can see, I redid the backgrounds for s–l! . I think they look quite good, and Omi agrees w/ me (only person on now who I could ask). He said it looks like “christmas on an acidtrip”, but whatever… fire was getting old.

What else… oh, my GF2 almost died! This morning, I awoke to see my screensaver, locked… so I restarted, and my PC speaker emitted damn 3 beeps (that means there’s a video problem)… so, I opened the Wad, and saw smoke coming from the back of the video card!!! Not much, but it was definitely smoke. So, I tried to turn it back on just to see, and it did turn on, but then I saw multicolor vertical lines on my screen, and what I think was a display error msg. So… after school, I just removed the fan, reapplied paste, put it back on, and added 2 RAMsinks I got from 2Cooltek™ today, and it turned on and worked fine… underclocked immediately though, to be safe. I also moved 2 fans around, and changed some fans’ connections around, using the new 3-pin y-adapter and 3-pin extensions I also got from 2Cooltek™. My temps have gone down a bit, but that’s mainly cause I have the case open. This is my interval log from like an hour ago.

In gaming news: Yes, I did beat Max Payne eventually… I’m not that much of a llama, I had some technical issues to deal w/ while playing; I got Red Faction (on Morpheus), and am about 60% through it. It’s extremely fun, and the physics are simply amazsting. I also got what I think is the full version of Startopia, but I’m not sure yet.

Once codename BeattheTechCloud starts up, we’ll get Windows XP Home version, and so we’ll also probably upgrade our own rigs to that.

And, a disturbing revelation I had: Snake and I have each had 3 different video cards (4 if u count the Dell and Supa GhEt 286): S3 Trio, S3 Virge; 3DFX Voodoo3 2000, S3 ViperII; GeForce2 GTS, GeForce2 Ultra… and every single time, Snake‘s card has had double the video memory. 2, 4; 16, 32; 32, 64… and, 2 of his had BIOSs, none of mine have.

That’s it.

In the last week, I have beaten Soldier of Fortune and Max Payne.

Soldier of Fortune was okay, but the gore gets sort of boring about half way through. Instead of blowing off specific body parts, I’d just blow their heads off to fly through the levels as quickly as possible. There was this one time that I had shot both of a guy’s legs off and he was lying on the ground screaming and just wouldn’t stop; so, I threw a knife in his head and that seemed to shut him up. That was pretty cool. Time to beat SoF: 13 Hours

Max Payne is something special, though. If you have the hardware, you owe it to yourself to somehow obtain and play this game. Personally, I have absolutely no trouble setting every option to High (except Geometry), even FSAA, and it looks amazing. The immersive story, the revolutionary graphics, and of course the exceptionally swooby bullet-time and dodging made me hooked on Max Payne for the entire last two days until I completed it at 11:00PM yesterday. Quite an experience. Time to beat Max Payne: 16 Hours. Loogie still isn’t done with it and he’s had a week longer to play…llama ding. Here’s some phat screenshots that aren’t about the game’s rats:

Quelog here in History class. In some computer lab researching for a research paper (go figure.) Ive been poking around the site some.. and.. uh.. im pretty bored. Snakes new Guardian thing has given me some problems, as Netscape doesnt allow scrolling on the mainpage. Ive got this pos Pentium Pro at 98% system resources. And.. uh… yea, if you have any profoundly useful internet resources concerning the effects of the industrial revolution on the poor in 1810-1860, hook me up.
