Just trying out a new new header. I also changed the forum around, at the expense of the previous threads. Well, feel free to comment on anything.

Hold up! I have a cunning plan. What if everyone that posts uses a different header background, that would rock. So, this is mine, everyone else get your own, damnit!

I’m done for today, seriously. Just want you to notice the poll, it’s next to the hosted sites pull-down. I know you wanna click it; but first, note that it’s buggy. Take the poll, then close the window, hit the S&L Poll button again to see the results. Weird things happen when you cheat the system, still better than damned ads floating all over the place.

CS rocks!!!!! Que told me it was good, and he was damn right. All I’ve played for a week and a half is CS, straight up. And a little Tournament of UT. But CS! I couldn’t even sleep last night, cause all I could think of was finishing rounds, taking out Terrorists. My favorite maps are cs_747, cs_italy, and as_oilrig. My favorite weapons are the Colt, Fabrique P90, Tactical Machine Pistol, and the Arctic something rifle. My only complaints are rounds, easier to have (comparatively) “LPBs,” and campers. I am pretty good at CS, my best game is a 19/12, i think. I play on puter2 and 3 servers, as does the rest of my clan. Oh, and the new MODs Snake got for me rock, and the Infiltration MOD seems okay so far, though it’s screwy. I would have bought another nice 128MB stick of RAM, but Snake BSed about saving money for a video, so I’m left with my old 128MB. *Sigh*. Well, cya.

Hey, Snake here. I got a few updates and new stuff. There’s a bunch of pics below, but I’ll explain those in a sec. First, I just realized this afternoon that Cuban Dawn can in fact be played as an assault map (1 of 2 Infiltration maps that also are made for AS). And, also, the Robar RC50 costs less than I had thought, it’s about 5000 credits; still pricey considering a AKSMU is only 350. Still worth the purchase more than a H&K PSG1, cause you’ll be able to carry almost every weapon, but only 1 SMG (I’d go with the MP5 for it’s greater range and less recoil).

Next, I have prepared a couple screenshots from my rather shitty architect tool of the S&L house-to-be. Loog and myself could live in this one, and Trig, Que and Gand could have a mirrored version connected to ours via a catwalk (which also gives a way for our CAT5 cables to get from one hub to the other on our network). Oh, and Kat could just chill in my room (preferably in the bed with Snake). Hey…a guy has to have dreams, that’s all that keeps me going. I plan on porting the house over to Unreal, eventually…how cool will that be, actually hearing my footsteps on the tile in the kitchen, dude!

The pics have tooltips when you mouseover for a short description.

Well, I’m gonna report on a few things. Infiltration is mighty damn cool. First off though, the installation/setup is a bitch. Luckily, I am a master at all things computer (except local area networks, obviously). After I got the first huge-ass download complete, I went ahead and played some UT deathmatch maps (as the maps have to be downloaded separately) and it’s pretty easy to get into the game. I recommend Barricade with 10 or 12 bots if you don’t have the time to download the 43MB maps.

The credit system in the loadout is rather interesting, either you can buy a sniper rifle (H&K PSG or Robar .50) and maybe a sidearm and ammo or purchase 2 sidearms, 2 SMGs, a Colt Rifle w/ M203 grenade launcher, another grenade launcher, an integral sepressor, 5 frag grenades, a knife, and all the ammo possible for every weapon (even sniper rifles, in case you pick one up). Of course, most would go for the second layout for the number of weapons and allout firepower. The .50 caliber rifle, though, is devastating against the cumbersome bots in the hands of a good sniper. Once I got the maps, I was really suprised, several of them are actually quite fun. Cuban Dawn has a CounterStrike feel to it, one team is in a house overlooking key chokepoints and the other has to prod their way into the house and hold these positions. It’s nothing but a deathmatch, but the developers hope to soon make it into something more assault-like. I haven’t had a whole lot of time to try out all the maps, but Installation is my favorite. The only thing is the red team’s bots seem to love suiciding at the beginning of the map by falling too far down, leaving it up to Snake to camp outside the blue base with my M203. Gibbies!!!

And, currently…I’ve gotten some new MODs. All the ones that Loog prescribed for me sound either like lousy rock or game music from an atari. So, Snake called up on some of his favorite artists at TiS for some goodness, the best being Martian Lovesong by Necros and Annie by Nighthawk. What’s totally amazing is that all of Nighthawk’s music has been given a 10, but one of the best trackers technically (Necros) is given ratings of 8 on a lot of his best stuff (most of it has been rated 5 times, though). So, if you get any new music, look towards the greats, not new, shitty artists.
