Surge 2.1, NEW HL PATCHES!!!

Ok, so, we just had the 3rd beta for S&L Surge this weekend… and since I had to format to see if my video drivers would work afterward (which they didn’t), we didn’t do much. Played some CS (Gandalf was killed by an aspiring S&L member on ka_colosseum 😛 ) and SoFII demo (for about 15 minutes, as long as I could play w/out locking). Anyway, I’m gonna try installing WinXP today to see if that possibly fixes something, but if it doesn’t, I can’t review Freedom Force demo till I get a new video card 😡 .

Next and last… in the midst of the Surge, I missed the arrival of the NEW HL PATCHES!!! On the 24th, patches (update and full) for Half-Life v1109, and Counter-Strike v1.4, came out. Get em @ FilePlanet (links to them are everywhere on the front page); or, if you don’t want to have to wait in a line, or you’re having problems with IE security protocols, like me, go to FileFront. They’re only 11.6MB and 23.4MB! 8)

Revision (8:06PM): I just added another tweak to the Win98 Guide, under User-Interface.

Demos!!!

Who said all Loogie does is update staff pages and fix CGI?! Well, if you did, you’re wrong :) .

I just reviewed 3 top-notch demos: Clive Barker’s Undying, Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix (MP Test), and Anachronox…

And, I’ve got one more on the way! By next week, I’ll have Freedom Force reviewed (I have to format and reinstall it first, my video drivers are queered up). Play those demos! 8)

More on Deus Ex

Been working my Deus Ex Guide and finally brought it to HTML format from TXT. It’s hardly finished, but it has the general outline that I will follow. I actually started writing the TXT back in the summer after completing Deus for the second time. Now, here I am, working on it again only a few minutes after completing it for the 6th time. This really has to be the best plot that has ever been in a game…not just the depth of the story, but how it’s played out. Every time I play this game, I find something new. 😉

Without further ado, I give you the not-even-half-complete Deus Ex Guide.

Here’s some news, Gandalf

I wouldn’t really warrant a week without news, maybe 4 or 5 days, but I’ll tell you what I’ve been doing. I’m working on a Deus Ex Strategy Column. Of course, no one can tell you how to play Deus, everyone takes their owns paths, but if you read over this Column before playing you’ll likely have a lot more fun playing Deus Ex. In order to write this Column correctly, I’m having to go through Deus for the 6th time, but I’m not complaining. It’s an awe-inspiring game, and if you haven’t played Deus Ex, may 100 greasals attack you in a street at night. (Better get your lightning gun ready for those greasals, Que…oh, that’s right…you don’t have Q3 either.) 😡

Besides that Column, I’m thinking about working on changing the MOD database into a Music database. Acumen once told me:

I’m more and more toward releasing only mp3 version[s] in the future. They contain better soundquality, offer more post-production features and are familiar to a bigger audience.

Well, thanks a lot Acumen, cause now I have 300 MP3s and 322 MODs. 😛

goddamit, i’m tired of seeing the same damn news post everyday for a week….as one of the three loyal visitors i think i should get more bang for the buck i don’t pay. I’ve no relevant news, except thast gandalf has not been sufficiently entertained!

If you delete this post snake, replace it with something informative and witty, as per s–l tradition. Maybe if i had a job like Rach, I wouldn’t be sitting here whining…..but until that time, i am Gandalf.
